Breaking News: Eos Lip Balm Just Acquired By Blockchain Startup EOS
In a blockchain-industry first, EOS, a blockchain startup headed by Dan Larimer, has just acquired Eos Lip Balm.
Usually, startups are acquired by established and profitable companies, but this marks the first time a startup has acquired an established company. It also marks the first time a blockchain company has merged with a beauty product. We caught up with Dan Larimer himself to ask some questions about this rather odd new acquisition.
The lip balm category struck them as a prime candidate for innovation, since the vast majority of products on the market “were indistinguishable” from their 100-year-old predecessor, Teller says. Many brands appeared to be driven primarily by cutting costs and competing on price, he points out. “It appeared to us that everybody in this category was being lazy. That was an opportunity.” -Fast Company
Stella:
Hi Dan, it’s nice to talk with you again. So, how and why did your newest blockchain startup company, EOS, acquire a lip balm company?
Dan:
Well, we consider our blockchain startup to be an evolution of smooth, just like the Eos lip balm. When we began looking into the partnership due to our names being the same, the idea hatched in my mind: Why not create the very first blockchain lip balm using Delegated Proof of Stake! There’s no other blockchain company who is currently addressing the problem of chapped blockchain lips using DPOS (Delegated Proof of Stake).
The vision of our company is aligned very closely with the the Eos Lip Balm company. They innovated an outdated 100 year-old chapstick idea, creating a futuristic egg from a stick of lip balm. We are taking the idea of smart contracts, adding bots + blockchain, and scaling this way beyond what the Ethereum blockchain can do. It’s THE operating system of operating systems! We are doing this with Graphene technology and there’s nothing like it on the market.
We are providing silky, smooth DApps that solve a myriad of problems using DPOS. Eos lip balm products give your lips a silky smooth bath that Chapstick cannot compete with. Likewise, our DPOS blockchain platform which solves the scalability issue creates a silky smooth experience for our clients. It’s like taking a bubble bath in the future of smart contracts.
We are the futuristic egg that is about to hatch. Why not express this innovative idea by merging with the Eos Lip Balm brand?
Stella:
Wow. If EOS is going to run more efficiently than Ethereum, well, then, holy chipmunk chins! Do you have any final thoughts or anything else you would like to communicate to your future clients?
Dan:
All of our clients who decide to develop on our EOS platform will be receiving a complimentary EOS lip balm egg in their desired style and flavor.
Stella:
Cool. Hey, by the way, why did you decide to make one of the flavors, Gangsta Moneydew?
Dan:
I decided to pay tribute to Tuck-Fheman, who has been creating absurd parodies of me from day one on Steemit.com. At first, I didn’t like Tuck-Fheman’s sense of humor, but now it has grown on me to the point that I would like to thank him for his crazy contributions, especially the parody Twitter account, @NotoriousDEX. This is a way of me apologizing to him for flagging the crap out of his parody posts in the early days of Steemit.
Stella:
Well, this is great news. How can I buy some of these EOS tokens and get involved?
